Our Restoration Process
We carefully remove the sash windows and transport them to our workshop in the Chilterns, where they are stripped back to bare timber. Any rot is repaired, using ,joints are rebuilt, the glass is cleaned and re-bedded, and the sashes are primed, undercoated, and finished with two top coats. While the sashes are being restored, we repair and repaint the sash boxes on site, carrying out any necessary timber repairs. Once complete, the restored sashes are reinstalled with a discreet draught-proofing system, new waxed cotton sash cords, and new window furniture and locks. The entire process typically takes around one week. During this time, the window openings are secured with fitted security boarding whenever we are not on site.
